What you can source in Shenzhen
Shenzhen sits in the Pearl River Delta. You land at SZX and can be on a factory floor the same afternoon. This is what most buyers cover in 3–4 days.
Huaqiangbei before nine
The electronics market opens early and closes early. We walk the component floors before the crowds, price a bill of materials across three stalls, then take the sample to a test bench on the same street. If a supplier cannot show a board today, the price is a guess.
Bao'an, Longgang, and the line behind the pitch
Shenzhen's factories sit in Bao'an and Longgang, 40 to 70 minutes from the centre. Most of them assemble rather than make components, and that is fine if you know which part is bought in. We ask for the supplier list, the test report and the certification file before the visit.
What an MOQ really means
For accessories, 500 pieces is a normal first order. Tooling is the real cost: US$800 to US$4,000 for a simple housing, paid once, and four weeks before the first sample. We put the tooling cost, the certification and the shipping weight on one sheet so the landed price is a number, not a promise.
Border, airport, and the next city
Shekou ferry reaches Hong Kong airport in 30 minutes, and the high-speed rail to Guangzhou takes 35. Fly into SZX if your meetings are in Bao'an; fly into HKG if the fare is cheaper and you have four hours. We plan the arrival around factory hours, not around the airport.

When to come
The best months are March–May, September–November. Factories and sample rooms are fully stocked then, and the fair calendar is in full swing.
How long to stay
Most buyers give Shenzhen 3–4 days. Add a day if you want factory visits outside the city.
